Retrospective WGS analysis of STEC outbreaks

Two Belgian STEC outbreaks were retrospectively analysed using Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS). The results on WGS-based isolate characterization and typing were compared to those obtained from the initial outbreak investigations to evaluate the added value of WGS in foodborne outbreak investigation.
