Title: Dataset on Research Integrity and Misconduct in Health-Related Studies Abstract:This dataset was generated as part of a study investigating research integrity and misconduct in health-related studies, with a focus on identifying magnitude, contributing factors, and attitudes. The research aimed to explore the prevalence and types of research misconduct, including fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism, among health researchers in a Public University, Ethiopia. Methodology:The dataset was collected between January 8 to March 8 using a structured survey distributed to health science researchers and faculty members. The survey included questions on demographic information, personal experiences with misconduct, and factors that led to ethical violations. Data were anonymized to maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with ethical standards. Structure of the Dataset:The dataset is provided in SPSS (.sav) format and includes responses from 244 participants. Key variables include: Demographic Information: Age, gender, academic rank, and field of specialization. Awareness of Research Ethics: Familiarity with research ethics guidelines and training received. Incidents of Misconduct: Self-reported research misconduct (e.g., fabrication, falsification, plagiarism). Attitudes Toward Research Integrity: Beliefs about the importance of integrity and accountability in research. Potential Use Cases:This dataset is intended for researchers, policymakers, and educators interested in improving research integrity and responsible conduct of research. It provides insights into the ethical challenges faced in health-related studies and can inform interventions to reduce research misconduct. Ethical Considerations:Data collection and sharing adhered to ethical guidelines, including approval by the Institutional Research Ethics Committee of Addis Ababa University, College of Health Sciences. Participants provided informed consent, and all identifiable information has been anonymized.
