The effects of continual consumption of Origanum vulgare on transcriptomics

Pathogen control is a re-emerging challenge to the health of both humans and animals due to gradual discontinuation of antibiotics in animal agriculture and emergence of antibiotic resistant pathogens. Livestock industry is in the process considering plant-based products as an alternative to in-feed antibiotics. In this study, the effects of 2% oregano powder supplementation on the liver and ileum gene expression in healthy male broilers has been investigated with deep RNAseq.
