In vitro Human faecal microbiota fermentation of plant cell wall components

Plant cell wall (PCW) is a complex assembly of mostly polysaccharides, which releases beneficial metabolites (e.g. SCFA) and alters the microbial community during the fermentation by human gut microbiota. However, how human gut microbiota responds to PCW remains unclear due to its complex structures and components. This project investigated the characteristics of microbiota alterations and the end-products from the in vitro fermentation of plant cell wall components.
