Effect of immunization co-stimuli on transcriptome of mouse splenic IgM− B220lo CD138+ plasma cells. Mus musculus

The project elucidates how inflammatory environment during immunization modulates qualitative aspects of IgG antibody responses. We immunized mice (n=3 per group) i.p. with ovalbumin and an adjuvant – either complete Freund’s adjuvant (CFA) or LPS – to induce T-cell-dependent immune responses of different strength and quality and then analyzed the transcriptome of sorted splenic IgM− B220lo CD138+ plasma cells (about 80% of them are IgG+) on day 8. This study could help identify molecular pathways and markers to target unwanted plasma cells in autoimmune disorders as well as to develop better vaccination strategies
