COCO-Tasks

When humans perform daily tasks, they simply select the most appropriate objects. While the question of which object should be used for a specific task sounds trivial to humans, answering it poses significant challenges for robots and other autonomous systems. However, current object detection benchmarks that focus on detecting object categories fail to address this problem. Therefore, we introduce the COCO-Tasks dataset, which contains approximately 40,000 images annotated with the objects most suitable for 14 distinct tasks.
