Human-Specific BMI Network

The Human-Specific BMI network is a network of 925 genes highly proximal to human BMI GWAS hits but distant from rat BMI GWAS hits. Sets of significant genes from human and rat BMI GWAS were independently propagated on the Parsimonious Composite Network (PCNet v1.3) using the network colocalization (NetColoc) approach. All genes were scored based on their normalized proximity within the network to the input gene sets. Genes with high proximity to the human input set and low proximity to the rat input set are included in the Human-Specific BMI Network.
Node color indicates the gene source as human BMI GWAS hits (light blue), orthologs of rat BMI GWAS hits (purple), human and rat GWAS hits (dark blue), or network implicated (orange). Edges are maintained from PCNet.
