Biodiesel production from baobab seed oil and its potential to improve livelihood of rural communities in arid and semiarid regions of Africa

This are data on biodiesel production from baobab seed oil and its properties. The data is based on our original work carried out in our laboratory. Fig. 1 is a picture we took during refining of the oil (Fig 1 a) and the biodiesel (Fig 1b). Table 1 is the proximate analysis of baobab seeds. The data was collected in triplicates and presented here as mean + standard deviation.  Table 2 shows the oil and protein content of baobab reported in the literature. Under the column labeled as reference the source of these data are shown.  Fig 2 is a picture of the thin layer chromatography of the biodiesel and baobab oil.  Fig 3 is the FTIR data generated upon analysis of baobab biodiesel.  Table 3 is analysis of the properties of baobab biodiesel. What is given in this Table is the average of three independent experiments + standard deviation.
