This study examines the relationship between number of insects and vegetation density within 3 different plots in each dense and sparse vegetation. <br><br>Methods:<br><br>-18 cups of 3 different colours were spread equally between sparse and dense vegetation and placed in groups of 3. <br>-Both sparse and dense vegetation had 3 plots each. Each plot contained 3 cups, one of each color. <br>-Each cup was filled with roughly 60 ml of soap water. <br>The cups were left for about an hour. <br>-After an hour the number of insects within each plot were counted. <br>-The data were ploted on an excel sheet and posted to figshare.<br>Hypothesis:<br>There is a correlation between vegetation density and number of insects.<br><br>Prediction: <br><br>There should be a correlation between vegetation density and number of insects because the thicker the vegetation, the more suitable the habitat is for the species of insects. Therefore the number of insects is expected to increase with thicker vegetation because the increased vegetation provides shelter from predators and increased nutrition and better nest positions.<br><br>Metadata:<br><br>Plot: A given area of land be it dense or sparse within the woodland area.<br><br>Number of insects: Total number of insects from the 3 different cups in each plot.<br><br>Insects' Species: Specie of each insect observed.<br><br><br><br>
