Characterizing antibiotic resistance development of clinical dose regimens using next-generation sequencing to enable personalized treatments of bacterial infections

The goal of this study is to examine the impact of different experimental methodologies on the evolution of antimicrobial resistance. We compare dynamic concentration time kill experiments that simulate pharmacokinetic dosing profiles in patients with serial passaging assays. We study two clinical isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae exposed to the antibiotic colistin.
