资源简介:
Oils are commonly used in personal care industry as emollients. Owing to their undesirable feel they are formulated in oil in water emulsions form. Emulsions contains emulsifying agent (e.g. surfactant) to solubilize and stabilize the oil droplet in the formulation as well as thickening agent to provide the consistency of the formulation. The end-capped hydrophobically modified urethane−ethoxylate (HEUR) polymers have hydrophobic end chain from both sides, which tend to form micelles in solution. These self-assembly polymer can be used as a model multifunctional additives as it solubilize and stabilize the oil droplets in the emulsion as well as their thinking properties. Here we are studying the thickness of the polymer layer stabilizing the oil droplet as a function of the polymer molecular weight, carbon chain length and concentration.
