Genetic dissection of the role of Wnt genes in Drosophila embryo patterning: new insight for the gene DWnt4

Wnt genes are members of a family of cell signaling molecules that are required for embryo patterning and development. The prototype member of the Wnt family is Wingless. Many Wg dependent events require input from other Wnt genes, however only a limited number of mutants are reported in Wnt genes other than wg, hence, seven unique EMS induced recessive lethal mutations of DWnt gene were isolated and mapped by whole genome resequencing, to test this notion.
