Absence in Secondary School, 1989

The project was carried through on assignment from Kirke-, utdannings- og forskningsdepartementet, who wanted a scientific description of the scale and causes of pupils absence in high school, and especially an assessment of the effects of the new attendance register. The project was carried through as a pen and paper questionnaire with two phases. The archived data set is from phase II and contains questionnaires from 2953 pupils in six counties. Information is gathered on education, future plans, marks, well-being, time use and study behaviour, relationship in the class, time usage in class, attendance register, attendance and truancy. The documentation of the dataset is incomplete.
