This paper-based collection (1930-1931) relating to Cecil Henry Burgess, an agricultural scientist, consists of reports, surveys and papers. It includes: a report on preliminary investigations of distributions etc. of pea mites; a report on a survey of insects found in soil (1931); manuscript papers including literature relating to the red-legged mite and synonymity of the nomenclature with respect to the pea mites; various papers on halotydeus; surveys of various plots and pastures (one of 1930); meteorological records from the State Research Farm, Werribee, (August 1930-July 1931); samples for soil insect washings, methods of separating insects from soil; soil fauna, etc. (May-July 1931).
