This dataset refers to the experiment reported in the paper entitled "Arousal - but not valence - reduces false memories at retrieval". Recognition responses are shown in column "Response" (1 refers to "yes", 0 refers to "no"). Participants were divided into three mood-induction groups (negative, positive and neutral; see column "Group"). The effectiveness of mood-induction was tested on both dimensions of valence and arousal with the Self Assessment Manikin rating scale (i.e., SAM_PRE_VAL, SAM_PRE_ARO...)."Type" refers to the recognition item (whether it was target, or distractor at encoding; distractor could be either causal, gap-filling or inconsistent).<br>
