Structural insights into the DNA binding mechanisms of the yeast transcription factor Fkh1

Various mutations were introduced into the yeast forkhead protein Fkh1 to investigate the importance of various wing residues towards the function of the protein. Fkh1 function was identified by the morphological differences of the yeast cells, with clusters and pseudohyphal growth indicating some degree of Fkh1 dysfunction.
