Impact of hemolysis on profiles of exRNAs in healthy individuals Overall design: The goal of the project was to investigate the effect of hemoglobin released during blood collection on the levels of circulating miRNAs. Blood from 5 subjects, 3 females and 2 males were collected in EDTA, heparin and serum vacutener tubes. Cell free plasma was then mixed with increasing concentrations of hemoglobin, 0.05, 0.5 and 5%, and miRNAs analyses using RT-PCR.
