The present study investigated the indigenous metal-tolerant bacterial populations in the mine-water microbiome, which might have potential for bioremediation of the mine water. Our intention was to assess the effects of the metal concentrations in mine water on the bacterial component of the microbiome. For this purpose, the bacterial communities in vanadium (VMW) and gold (GMW) in mine-water samples were exposed to different heavy-metal (As, Cd, Cr, Ni, Hg and V) concentrations (5 and 25 mM) under laboratory conditions.
