Identification of Iron Genes and Iron Gene Neighborhoods and Related Microorganisms in Oil-Polluted Iron-Rich Aquifers in Genom And Metagenome Assemblies

Oil pollution is a global environmental problem, and water bodies are particularly polluted. Iron-rich water environments often have superior petroleum degradation capabilities. Based on this principle, 16 groundwater samples were collected along the groundwater flow in an iron-rich oil-polluted aquifer in Anhui Province, and the specific functional genes were identified by metagenomics analysis, and the microbial communities of the oil-polluted iron-rich aquifer were analyzed through species annotation, and a large number of iron-rich reducing hydrocarbon-degrading microorganisms were found.
