Effects of Fumonisin B1 and Hydrolyzed Fumonisin B1 on Intestinal Microbiota in mice

Fumonisins, including the prevalent fumonisin B1 , are mycotoxins primarily produced by Fusarium verticillioides and Fusarium proliferatum, which can induce a spectrum of toxic effects in humans and animals. These mycotoxins are known to contaminate various cereals, with a predilection for corn, rice, wheat, and their derived products. This study underscores the necessity of scrutinizing the effects of modified mycotoxins and toxin mixtures in security risk assessments,especially in intestinal microbiota.
