De novo assembly and annotations of Australian downy mildew (Hyaloperonospora brassicae) populations

Recent studies in Australia have defined the incidence and severity of downy mildew (Hyaloperonospora brassicae) on canola across southern Australia; have classified the phylogenetic relationships of H. brassicae isolates as a benchmark for understanding current and future genetic shifts within pathogen populations; and have utilized octal classification as a novel basis for standardizing phenotypic characterization and monitoring of H. brassicae pathotypes. Subsequently, these studies were undertaken to define the genomic ontology annotations of the Australian downy mildew populations in order to characterize their uniqueness in comparison with both different pathogen populations and with H. arabidopsis.
