The 6 zip folders represent the 6 flights for megafauna surveys used in the paper by Laura Mannocci, Auguste Verdier, Louis Bézard, Valentine Fleuré, Gerard Subsol, Marc Chaumont & David Mouillot entitled 'A tracking-by-detection framework to automatically count rare and elusive megafauna in aerial video surveys' published in Remote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation. Each folder in divided into 3 subfolders: -videos_compressed: videos in MP4 format recorded from a Gopro mounted under the plane. The videos (original resolution: 2704 × 1520 pixels) have been compressed to HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) to limit storage space. -images: images in JPEG format extracted from the original videos (resolution: 2704 × 1520 pixels) at a rate of 3 frames per second. -labels: annotations in TXT format associated with the above images. Annotations are in normalized xywh format: class_id center_x center_y width height. class_id is as follows: 0: Dugong, class_id 1: Sea turtle, class_id 2: Eagle ray. This data repository should be used as input of code repository https://github.com/LilBabines/DUGONG in order to replicate the analyses and results of the above-mentionned paper.
