Sulfurimonas hongkongensis AST-10 was a strictly anaerobic denitrifying, hydrogen- and sulfur-oxidizing chemolithoautotroph isolated from marine sediment. It was also identified as a novel species with specific functions such as nitrogen and sulfur metabolisms in marine anoxic environments. This project was aimed to obtain its genome and capture genetic information to give a comprehensive understanding of this species. Strain AST-10=DSM 22096=JCM 18418.
