Madagascar (2008): TRaC Study Evaluating the Use of Modern Contraceptive Methods among Women of Reproductive Age. Third round.

The goal of the PSI/M family planning program is to improve the knowledge and to promote contraceptive modern practices among sexually active women through the distribution of marketing social product namely the pill contraceptive "Pilplan" and the injectable contraceptive "Confiance". Three cross sectional surveys were conducted in October/November 2004 and 2006 and November/December 2008, respectively. Women aged between 15 and 49 years old from the whole country were eligible for the study. Multi-stage stratified sampling was used in both surveys. A total of 2185, 2489 and 1089 eligible women were recruited from rural and urban areas at 2004, 2006 and 2008 respectively
