Revenue from book sales in Sweden 2018-2023, by distribution channel

The distribution channel in the Sweden book market which generates the most revenue is online bookstores, with sales regularly amounting to more than two billion Swedish kronor and hitting 2.09 billion in 2023. Ranked second are digital subscription services, which in 2023 generated over 1.58 billion SEK, up from 676 million four years earlier. Despite a slight decrease in some revenues, online book stores were in a comfortable lead in 2023 yet again, whereas digital subscription services and physical bookstores managed to make up some ground, as their revenues increased slightly that year.
