An Empirical Analysis of Municipal Performance in Australian Local Government

The data set consists of a series of four spreedsheets containing data on Australian local government, comprising data publically available on government websites, for the purposes of econometric analysis. All of them include data on size and population density, but also include different specialised financial variables suited to the specific purposes they were used for. Three are limited to specific Australian states while one covers all LGAs in Australia. The spreadsheets are organised with a row for each observation and a column for each variable. In the case of panel samples, each observation continues to have its own row, whereas time period is one of the columns
