资源简介:
Two of the primary goals of solar system exploration are to characterize habitable environments and search for signs of life. Addressing these goals on robotic missions requires fully integrated spaceflight instrumentation capable of ingesting samples from the environment and performing automated chemical compositional analysis. Integrated chemical and environmental microsystems capable of delivering this level of mission science have not yet been developed or tested on a spaceflight mission. To address this fundamental science need, we have advanced capillary electrophoresis instrumentation to spaceflight. This analyzer could be incorporated into any of the potential future life detection missions highlighted in the most recent Planetary and Astrobiology Decadal Survey.
