This dataset is the 1-kilometer grid soil type dataset of the Southwest Karst Region (1995), with a spatial resolution of 1 km and stored in raster data format. It was completed by relevant researchers including Shi Xuezheng, Yu Dongsheng, Pan Xianzhang and others from the Nanjing Institute of Soil Science through digitization, edge trimming and editing. This database is developed based on the *1:1,000,000 Soil Map of the People's Republic of China* compiled and published by the National Soil Survey Office in 1995, which adopts the traditional "genetic soil classification" system, takes soil subgroups as the basic mapping unit, and identifies a total of 12 soil orders, 61 great soil groups and 227 soil subgroups.
