Transcriptome analysis of drought responses in warm-season turfgrasses

Turfgrasses are a collection of low-growing perennial grasses that have important economic, environmental, and societal impacts. Drought is a major abiotic stress that limits the performance of these grasses. Improved drought tolerance is a critical trait for turfgrasses as water for landscape irrigation becomes more limited and drought intensity and frequency increase. The goal of this study was to analyze the responses in commonly used warm-season turfgrasses that utilize the C4 photosynthetic pathway.
