Musca domestica bacterial and fungal microbiota

To obtain an in-depth look at the house fly microbiota and its environmental variability, we sampled more than 400 flies from two geographically distinct countries (Belgium and Rwanda) and three different environments – homes, hospitals and farms. Importantly, we examined the internal as well as external microbiota of the house flies using amplicon sequencing, targeting both bacteria and fungi.
