Background :
A woman may be predisposed to having musculoskeletal discomfort due to physiologic changes that
are linked to pregnancy and the postpartum period. Pregnancy-related physiological changes such as
soft-tissue edema, increased fluid retention, ligament laxity, weight gain, hyperlordosis, and symphysis
pubis widening may make it more likely for a postpartum woman to adopt a kyphotic posture when
breastfeeding. Head forward and shoulders extended when kyphotic can result in considerable
intradiskal pressure increases and possible mictrotrauma to spinal structures leading to back
pain.Important endocrine systems undergo major changes during pregnancy, including levels and
functionality. The effects of these changes on a mother's mood and conduct have been well studied. Along with adjusting to changes in their duties as mothers, mothers may experience a variety of
emotional shifts.
