Development of Prediction Equation for Six-Minute Walk Test among Patients of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Despite the importance of evaluating the performance of T2DM subject during the 6MWT, few studies have analysed the predictors of 6MWD in diabetes mellitus participants. Moreover, although the results have been found to be highly reproducible, no previous study has evaluated of functional capacity in predictive models for 45-to-60-year male and female type 2 diabetes mellitus. To the best our knowledge, there is scarcity of investigates concerning functional capacity in type 2 diabetes mellitus. In order to address the research gap, we aim to present the study about the validity of six -minute walk distance predicted by Indian reference equation for 6MWT and to find the predictors of 6MWD in T2DM as well as develop gender specific regression equation for 6MWD in type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Primary Objectives
• To measure six -minute walk distance in patients of T2DM.
• To find the predictors of six min walk distance and develop gender specific regression equations for 6MWD in patients of T2DM.
Secondary Objectives
• To check validity of six -minute walk distance predicted by Indian reference equation for 6MWT among type 2 diabetes Mellitus patients (Palaniappan Ramanathan & Chandrasekaran; 2014;Vaish et al., 2013;Vaish & Chorasiya 2023)
