Observing teaching principles in School (OPTIS)

This study describes the development and validation of the Observing Principles of Teaching In School (OPTIS) protocol, addressing the need for a reliable and valid observation tool to identify applied teaching principles. The developmental validation process is detailed in a forthcoming publication in PLOS ONE. Inter- and intra-observer reliability, calculated with Gwet’s AC2 for two independent observers, demonstrated almost perfect agreement. Evidence for high predictive validity was obtained through multiple expert review rounds and strong theoretical foundations.
