Primary Dataset of Patients with Obesity Diagnosis Attended in Primary Health Care in Mexico, 2022

This database consists of an anonymized primary dataset of patients diagnosed with obesity who were treated at a primary care facility in Mexico during 2022. It includes clinical records derived from routine medical care, encompassing sociodemographic, anthropometric, clinical, and diagnostic variables. The study design is observational, retrospective, and descriptive, based on previously recorded clinical data. The study population consists of patients diagnosed with obesity, identified using ICD-10 codes related to obesity. The variables considered were sex, age, weight, height, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, glucose, ICD-10 diagnostic code, description of the diagnosis, type of diagnosis, and reason for the visit. The dataset was cleaned for academic and secondary research use. Personal identifiers were removed or replaced with an anonymized identifier; therefore, no names or other data allowing for the direct identification of individuals are included. Values coded as 0 in clinical variables indicate that the data was not recorded or was not obtained during the care visit. The dataset is derived from a study previously approved by an ethics and research committee. The publication of the dataset is intended for academic and scientific purposes and aims to promote the reuse of primary data in studies on primary care, obesity, clinical epidemiology, public health, and chronic noncommunicable diseases.
