Cooperative operation of 5G base stations and industrial park's novel power system considering communication quality of service

The construction of the novel power system (NPS) mainly based on renewable energy is an important direction for the transformation and development of China's energy and power sector in the context of “double carbon”. The industrial park (IP), as the main platform for carrying and driving urban economic growth, is a crucial component of the NPS. With the continuous development and adoption of fifth-generation mobile network (5G) technology, numerous 5G base stations (5G BS) have been established in IPs, undertaking significant communication tasks. They have become an emerging load demand for the operation of the IP's NPS, leading to increased power demand and severe challenges such as energy consumption costs for both 5G operators and the IP. To address these challenges, this paper utilizes the flexible regulation capability of 5G BSs to assist in the operation of the IP's NPS, reduce overall system operation costs, and improve operation efficiency. First, this paper establishes a cooperative operation model between 5G BSs and the IP's NPS to study the operating characteristics of both. Then, a fine-grained communication model for 5G BSs is developed to evaluate user quality of service (QoS) during the communication process based on utility theory, ensuring user QoS during cooperative operations. On this basis, an incentive mechanism based on cooperative game theory is proposed to further enhance the stability of cooperative operations and reduce system operation costs. A case study of an IP system with 5G BSs verifies the effectiveness of the cooperative operation model and operation framework proposed in this paper. Compared with independent operation, clustered communication operation, and traditional demand response mechanisms, the proposed scheme results in lower system operation costs and higher user QoS.
