Gut microbiome modulation is gaining attention in the unmet therapeutic need of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), both with probiotics and fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT). Yet, their combination has never been investigated. Here we investigated next-generation beneficial bacteria (NGBB) Anaerobutyricum soehngenii, pasteurized Akkermansia muciniphila and Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis. combined with FMT in a diet-induced MASLD mouse model. Following intervention, the V3-V4 hypervariable region of the 16S rRNA gene was sequenced from mouse colon content to profile bacterial community composition and diversity.
