Changes in gut commensal composition with age in early injured and untreated groups of flies under co-culture conditions (PRJCA042029)

To make the early injured (EI) flies have the same microbiota as untreated (UT) flies, we labeled EI and UT flies with different colors on their thorax and co-cultured them in the same cage. At 16 and 24 days of age, commensal genomic DNA of midguts was extracted using the TIANamp Genomic DNA Kit. The 16s rDNA sequencing library construction and sequencing process were performed by Majorbio Bio-Pharm Technology Co. Ltd (Shanghai, China) (https://www.majorbio.com/). 16S rRNA sequencing revealed a similar microbiota profile between UT and EI flies.
