This article explores the representation of adolescents’ relationship with society in English literature. Through the analysis of selected literary works, the study examines how young characters interact with social norms, authority, family, and cultural expectations. English literature has long portrayed adolescence as a critical stage of identity formation, conflict, and transformation. The article highlights major themes such as rebellion, alienation, moral development, and social integration. In addition, the article focuses on how literary authors reflect adolescents’ inner conflicts and emotional development in response to social challenges. Particular attention is given to theyoung characters’ search for identity, independence, and belonging within a rapidly changing social environment. The study also analyzes how social class, education, and moral expectations influence adolescents’ behavior and worldview in literary texts. By examining representative works of English literature, the article demonstrates that adolescents are often portrayed as agents of change who challenge existing social structures. The findings suggest that English literature not only depicts the difficulties faced by adolescents but also emphasizes their role in shaping and redefining social values. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of adolescence as a crucial theme in literary studies and highlights its relevance to contemporary social issues. Furthermore, the article adopts a literary-analytical approach to examine narrative techniques used by authors to portray adolescent experiences within society. Symbolism, characterization, and social context are analyzed to reveal how literature reflects the psychological depth of adolescence. The study also emphasizes the relevance of these literary representations to modern society, as many of the challenges faced by adolescents in literary texts remain significant today. By bridging literary analysis with social interpretation, the article provides a comprehensive view of adolescence as both a personal and social phenomenon in English literature.
