Diet composition of the Macaca fascicularis
收藏资源简介:
In Malaysia, the long-tailed macaque, Macaca fascicularis is well distributed in both Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo. This primate has been reported living in disturbed habitats due to human-induced land-use. Primates are particularly vulnerable to habitat alterations. Comprehensive studies on Malaysian long-tailed macaque at these habitats were conducted on its ecological, behavior, genetic and yet on metabarcoding diet. Here we present a chloroplast trnL DNA metabarcoding approach to better understand the plant diet of this macaque in various habitats in Peninsular Malaysia. Research findings provided understanding on plant dietary diversity and the ability of this macaque to cope with the current level of alteration that is applicable for conservation interest in future.
