PetroSurf3D

PetroSurf3D is a large-scale open dataset for high-resolution 3D surface segmentation, developed by institutions including Graz University of Technology. This dataset includes 26 high-resolution reconstructions of natural rock surfaces with ancient carved petroglyphs. It provides high-resolution meshes, depth maps and point clouds, as well as precise ground-truth annotations generated by experts from an archaeological perspective. PetroSurf3D aims to promote research on automatic and interactive 3D surface segmentation in archaeology, addressing the challenge of automatically segmenting and classifying surfaces based on their topographical features. It also serves as a challenging testbed for evaluating automated 2D and 3D surface segmentation algorithms.
