Small RNA sequencing enriched for piRNA fraction in primary glioblastoma stem cell lines and non-stem cell lines

Small RNA sequencing was performed in the paired primary glioblastoma cell lines derived from patients tissue. Each pair comprise of glioblastoma stem-like cell counterpart (propagated in DMEM/F12 cultivation medium (Gibco) with 2% B-27 50X Supplement, 1% Glutamax (all ThermoFisher Scientific), 100 U/ml penicillin, and 100 ug/ml streptomycin (both GE Healthcare), and non-stem cell counterpart (propagated in DMEM (Gibco) supplemented with 10% FBS, 1% Glutamax (both ThermoFisher Scientific), 100 U/ml penicillin and 100 ug/ml streptomycin, 1mM sodium pyruvate, and 1% non-essential amino acids (all GE Healthcare)). RNA isolated from cell lines was used for the identification of piRNA molecules that were dysregulated in glioblastom stem cells compared to non-stem cells.
