This record shows the numerical stresses due to the edge effect phenomenon in a carbon/epoxy [04/90n/04] cross-ply laminate, varying the thickness of the 90° layer (0.485 mm, 0.1 mm, 0.065 mm and 0.06 mm). These stresses were obtained using a finite element method (FEM) simulation based on generalised plane strain in ANSYS software.
