资源简介:
This study focuses on exploring the diversity, distribution, and assembly processes of planktonic protists in the Jeju Strait by leveraging high-resolution metagenomic sequencing data and environmental parameters. It aims to scrutinize the planktonic protist communities across different water masses and seasons to pinpoint factors impacting their diversity and co-occurrence. Particularly, the study will concentrate on the alpha diversity and beta diversity of the smallest eukaryotic members of the Jeju Strait's surface ocean. The outcomes will underscore the role of environmental filtering in defining protist communities and the variability of elements influencing their diversity and co-occurrence. Moreover, results from the null model and neutral community model analysis will enhance comprehension of planktonic protist assembly mechanisms. This research carries significant importance as limited studies have been carried out to investigate microbial eukaryotic diversity and community assembly processes in the JS, particularly in the northeastern East China Sea. Plankton samples will be analyzed from three stations across three oceanographically distinct zones over four seasons using high-throughput SoEM sequencing. This study, in essence, seeks to deepen our knowledge about the diversity, distribution, and assembly processes of planktonic protists in the Jeju Strait.
