The Save the Regent Theatre Committee (SRTC) was appointed on the 24 August 1973 by the Premier of Victoria.In August 1975 the Committee submitted a report to the Minister of Planning with the recommendation to preserve the Regent Theatre for its historic and architectural importance.Consignment P1 of the series comprises transcripts of proceedings, submissions to the Committee and correspondence. Some of the records collected by the Committee to complete the research of the history of the theatre are dating back to 1929.Consignment P2 contains photographs and negatives of the drawings prepared in ?1946 for the restoration of the theatre.
