Biogeochemical parameters for CTD bottle data - Agulhas Bank EK188 cruise (SOLSTICE program).

This cruise was part of a large international Global Challenge Research Funded project called Sustainable Oceans, Livelihoods and food Security Through Increased Capacity in Ecosystem research in the Western Indian Ocean (SOLSTICE-WIO). One of the SOLSITCE-WIO case studies was to investigate the oceanography on the eastern and central Agulhas Bank to better understand this ecosystem which sustains several commercial fisheries. The cruise occurred between 21 March and 2 April 2019 on board the RV Ellen Khuzwayo. This dataset contains the CTD bottle data together with the analyses conducted on the seawater samples collected from the Niskin bottles. The list of analyses is as follows: nutrients (nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, silicate), Particulate Organic Carbon (POC) and its isotopes C13, Particulate Nitrogen (PON) and its isotope N15, Particulate silica (bSiO₂), total and fractionated (0.2, 2, 20 µm) Chlorophyll-a concentration, total and greater than 20 µm primary production (from 13C isotope addition and simulated in-situ incubation).
