RNA sequencing of mouse macrophages infected with Ebola virus-based transcription- and replication-competent virus-like particles

The goal of the study is to elucidate potential mechanisms of Ebola virus mouse-adaptation within a mouse macrophages cell line. RAW264.7 cells were infected with transcription- and replication-competent virus-like particles containing a pentacistronic EBOV minigenome which carries the NP and VP24 genes that are mutated in mouse-adaptation. Insights gained from the RNA sequencing of infected cells can help understand the mechanisms of pathogenesis of Ebola virus to better develop therapeutic interventions.
