资源简介:
This collection comprises images from two fieldwork events undertaken in October 2020 and June 2021 by On-Site-Archaeology Ltd in a field to the south of Southfield Farm in the village of Wetwang, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. An evaluation revealed that many features believed to be archaeological, based on the geophysics report, were in fact of natural origin. Two trenches did detect archaeological features including the corner of an enclosure that extended beyond the limits of the site, and which contained a quantity of bone suspected to be the remains of either a human infant or neonate. Further open area investigation revealed the continuation of the previously investigated enclosure ditch. The lack of associated discrete features and finds suggest the ditches are not associated with any immediate settlement activity within the area.
