The immature life stages of mosquitoes share the same breeding site with a variety of microorganisms in aquatic habitats. To better understand the microbial diversity in field Aedes aegypti across different developmental stages, we analysed larvae, pupae, and freshly emerged adults from Burkina Faso together with their breeding water with 16S rRNA gene sequencing.
