Paenibacillus polymyxa OSY-EC is a Gram-positive spore-forming microorganism isolated as a spontaneous mutant from P. polymyxa OSY-DF. The bacterium can produce paenibacillin, polymyxin and fusaricidin. To better understand the mutations from the wildtype strain a draft genome sequence of P. polymyxa OSY- EC was determined.
