资源简介:

This dataset is the replication package for the study "Do smarter building controls deliver occupant-related co-benefits? Energy and indoor environmental quality trade-offs in office buildings", submitted to Building and Environment. The study evaluates 11 rule-based Building Automation and Control Systems (BACS) scenarios aligned with EN ISO 52120-1 functionality classes across four control domains (ventilation, heating, shading, lighting) in a prototype terraced office, under three European climates (Helsinki, Brussels, Rome). The workflow integrates EnergyPlus 23.2 building performance simulation, stochastic occupancy modelling, scripted control logic, and variance-based Sobol/Saltelli sensitivity analysis (179,007 successful annual simulations) to translate physical indoor environmental quality outputs into evidence-tiered, per-employee productivity and sick-leave co-benefit proxies. Contents include:- Aggregated key performance indicator and co-benefit tables per scenario and climate (energy, CO2 and ventilation-rate IAQ metrics, thermal comfort, illuminance, monetised proxy costs).- Sobol first-order and total-order sensitivity indices for every scenario-climate combination and KPI.- Figure-source tables for the manuscript figures, the paired upgrade-delta tables, and the targeted PrivateOffice_1 lighting-energy check (72 paired runs).- Post-processing scripts (Python) covering KPI extraction, co-benefit calculation, Sobol index computation, and energy re-extraction.- Baseline EnergyPlus 23.2 input file for the terraced office prototype. The archived visual (daylight/illuminance) extraction retained a valid reference-point series only for PrivateOffice_1; all deposited shading and lighting visual metrics, proxy costs and Sobol indices are therefore PrivateOffice_1-only, and artificial zero-filled meeting-room visual values are represented as missing. Raw annual EnergyPlus outputs, the full per-run co-benefit table and HPC run manifests are not archived because of storage volume but can be regenerated from the deposited inputs and scripts. Weather data files for the three climates are publicly available from EnergyPlus.net and climate.onebuilding.org. Monitored building records used for the empirical anchoring (Supplementary Appendix B) are not included because they are subject to BuildON consortium and building-operator data-sharing agreements. All scripts and the baseline IDF use generic path placeholders (e.g., <PROJECT_DIR>, <SCHEDULES_DIR>) instead of absolute personal paths; see README.md for the full substitution table and reproduction instructions.
